Tell us a little bit about yourself.<br />
I was born in Cheshire way back in 1967. I graduated from New College Durham<br />
in Business Study at the beginning of the package holiday boom – hand<br />
written airline ticket days!<br />
I’ve lived in Thailand for 35 years and was part of the “Phuket Sandbox”<br />
team of translators during the pandemic. English versions of<br />
documents and PR was done by a few of us helping the Thai<br />
authorities.<br />
You’ve worked in Thailand for over 30 years now, what’s<br />
the reason behind you decision to settle here?<br />
I originally worked with ILG <strong>Travel</strong> and was posted here<br />
when they launched their first charter from UK to<br />
Bangkok in 1988. When they collapsed, the hotel I<br />
was based at asked me to join them as a duty<br />
manager. 35 years later and I’m still here.<br />
