Participate in a Live Auction for exquisite holiday season gifts and experiences! SAS is an innovative program, newly introduced to South Florida, designed to help veterans suffering from traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress (PTSD) recover their brain health. The SAS initiative is committed to showcasing and developing holistic, proven approaches to effectively treat and rehabilitate veterans, aiming to gather sufficient funds to begin treatment for one hundred deserving veterans over the next 24 months. The SAS Program, established under IBRF, seeks to accelerate development in brain cures by supporting state-of-the-art translational clinical research. With a strong Steering Committee, including Dr. Phillip DeFina, a pioneer in neuroscience, and other experts deeply connected to military and veteran communities, the program aims to bring revolutionary changes in the treatment of brain injuries and dysfunctions among veterans. This is a significant step towards addressing the long-standing effects of war on combat veterans, providing them with the tools to empower themselves and reclaim their place in society. Help us make a difference by supporting SAS in changing the lives of thousands of veterans suffering from brain wounds and offering new hope and recovery to them and their families. One of our Army veterans, Elizabeth Joy (Collatura-Rosenberg) who flew helicopters and was released from service in 2011 as a Major says: “Returning to society after serving multiple combat tours in the Army was more of a challenge than I had anticipated. The invisible wounds of war persisted in creating chaos in my new civilian life and I knew that I needed the best care available. That’s when I found Dr. DeFina and the “Save A Soldier Project”. Dr. DeFina is not only an Army Veteran, but also a Clinical Neuroscientist who has developed a program for veterans with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress (PTS) under the wing of the International Brain Research Foundation. Thankfully, I was selected to undergo their month-long Biohacking Brain Boot Camp. It has given me a new start and fresh hope for the future.” Another SAS Alum, former Navy Corpsman, Peter Ahearn said: “There are programs that treat you, but this program actually heals you. I am nobody special, but I have been given something special.” For further information, visit https://ibrfoundation.org or contact saveasoldier2024@gmail.com.
