Carbon Capture Fantasy?
By: Dan Hyde / Call to Action
day doesn’t go by when you don’t read or hear
A about alleged “climate change” and the evils
of the carbon footprint it produces. Fact is, the
planet cannot exist without a carbon footprint i.e.
carbon dioxide.
In fact if you really want to get technical, the human body is
fundamentally a “carbon unit” to coin an old Star Trek phrase. So,
what’s the problem?
The cliche “Too much of anything is a bad thing” seems applicable.
There are an estimated 300 million internal combustion and diesel
powered vehicles operating on American roads.
Each produces a significant amount of air polluting chemicals
such as benzene and carbon monoxide to name but a few. When you
couple that with a total estimated worldwide number of 1.4 billion
vehicles, then the sheer volume of deadly air pollutants excreted into
the atmosphere every day is exponentially averse!
People are aware of governmental edicts mandating the widespread
deployment of “cleaner” fuel burning vehicles such as electric powered
cars and trucks. This purportedly would help mitigate the carbon
problem.
But few are aware of another type of carbon reduction technology –
Carbon Capture. It is essentially an extremely elaborate air vacuum
cleaner!
This “appliance” that literally sucks the bad carbon out of the air
resembles a common sound system used at high decibel rock concerts.
The proprietary technology receives the “bad carbon” and stores it
at an estimated depth of 8,000 feet underground where is remains
essentially inert.
At that depth the CO2 is trapped in an inescapable bed rock “prison.”
This cutting edge and revolutionary technology is in the early stages of
widespread use.
Cost, of course, is a main concern. It is estimated to be on the same
level of EV production facilities - hundreds of millions of dollars per
site application.
If and that’s a big if the technology does as is designed to do, it truly
would be a game changer and we will all benefit!
