PULO market — created by a collective of architects known as a9a rchitects in China — integrates a variety of living functions to promote community interaction when urban development is being upgraded. Community commercial buildings and blocks: PULO market grows from a neighbourhood, with three independent blocks form a scale of the inner street. The cut line of the segmented block connects the people on both sides of the residential area and the park, with a traffic path connecting various functional blocks. Using box prototypes, modular and variable schemes are set for format planning, based on the business needs of different architectural styles. The space can also accommodate bars, restaurants and retail shops to meet the needs of residents. Wood, concrete and glass: Spruce wood was chosen as the material of choice and black steel pillars bring a cooler tone to the buildings. The interior roof is made of purlins and rafters are located in the same plane, and the exposed wooden frame reflects the structural beauty.
