Action was taken as follows :

1. It was recommended to the Board of Trustees that $5000 be con
tributed towards the cost of a pumping engine to be maintained hy
the city at the College Avenue Fire Station.
2. It was recommended to the Board of Trustees that Morse Hall be
equipped in the most temporary way possible to make it available for
a period of from three to four years for the use of the Chemical
Department at an expense of from $30,000 to $35,000 of wThich
approximately $8000 of equipment will be available in a new build
ing ; the amount to be appropriated from the insurance on the build
ing.
3. It was recommended that the house for the Superintendent of
the Veterinary Experiment Station be constructed and charged to the
Cottage Investment Account at a cost not to exceed $4000 if the rent
which may be received for the building be such as in the opinion of
the Comptroller will furnish an adequate income and provide a sink
ing fund for the replacement of the within a reasonable property time.
4. Permission was given for the carrying of a walk for a short
