10. President Schurman presented a report from Professor George
L. Burr,
whom he had called in for advice on the scheme for the
charges to be carved on the shields of the first four residential halls,
which was read and adopted ; and it was thereupon
Resolved,
That the thanks of the Committee on Buildings and
Grounds be tendered to Professor Burr for the valuable assistance he
has rendered to the Committee and for the generous manner in which
he has put the wealth of his scholarship at their disposal.
11. The matter of the installation of outside fire escapes leading to
the top floors of White and Franklin Halls was referred to the Super
intendent to investigate and report.
12. Resolved That inasmuch as the University does not come within
the compulsory provision of the Workmen's Compensation Act, it was
resolved that no change be made in the present policy of not carrying
accident insurance upon its employees.
On motion adjourned.
