n. Resolved, That as the lowest bid received exceeds the appropria
tion for the Barn, the bids be rejected and the plans revised and new
bids called for.
12. A request for the assignment of a room in the N. Y. State Drill
Hall for the use of the Faculty Military Society was considered and as
the time of the completion of the building is in doubt no action was
taken but the matter referred to the President for such later action
as he may think best.
13. On the recommendation of the Superintendent the location of
the rifle range on the Behrendt Farm was approved.
14. The Committee appointed upon the employment of Mr. Lowrie
as Landscape Architect reported recommending the employment of
Mr. Lowrie as such architect at a salary of $450 a year with traveling
expenses.
15. It was recommended to the Board of Trustees that an appropria
tion of $1,200 or so much thereof as may be needed, be made to re
build the area wall at the east end of Goldwin Smith Hall.
16. The proposed plans of the Barn to be erected on the Veterinary
farm were in general approved provided the Superintendent shall
satisfy himself that it can be built, including provision for light and
water, within the funds available for the purpose.
17. The Superintendent was requested to recommend to the Com
mittee sites for the proposed barn and for the cottage to be erected
for the Superintendent of the Veterinary Experiment Station.
18. The matter of providing upon the campus parking facilities for
automobiles was referred to the sub-committee on Grounds and the
Superintendent to investigate and report.
