DuraMax Tablet 8.4 Product Guide v2.01
Located directly under the touchscreen, the Tablet’s keypad provides:
� An Enter button, surrounded by four navigation buttons, which allow movement of the
cursor up, down, right, and left.

� Four keys with these default functions:
� First key: Brightness – Toggles between the current display brightness and
maximum brightness
� Second key: Windows – Press to display the Start menu
� Third key: Internet – Press to launch Internet Explorer
� Fourth key: Keyboard – Press to toggle on and off the Input Panel
Note: To redefine a keypad key’s function: Tap Start | Settings | Control Panel, then double-tap the
HotKey icon to display the HotKey Properties control panel. Tap Enable Hot Keys, tap the selection
box corresponding to the key, and browse for the file you wish to map to the key. After selecting the
file, tap OK to cause the key to activate the function associated with the newly mapped file.
� Two tri-color red/amber/green indicators:
� The indicator on the left is available for use by custom application software.
� The indicator on the right indicates Tablet power status (see Table 2 on page 9).
Using the Headphone Jack
The DuraMax Tablet 8.4 lets you listen to music or other audio not only from its speakers, but
also via the 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack, located on top of the Tablet (see Figure 5 below).
The headphone jack allows insertion of standard 32 Ω headphones. Headphones must be
purchased separately.
Using the Microphone
To use the DuraMax Tablet 8.4’s microphone to record audio, users must install their own audio
recording software on the Tablet.
