MAINTENANCE 6EN6WARNING: Never ride your motorcyclewhen the drive chain is in poor conditionor improperly adjusted. Failure toheed this warning can lead to, amongother things, rear wheel lockup withsubsequent loss of control of themotorcycle, resulting in an accident,personal injury or death. Before riding,always check the chain adjustmentaccording to the procedures shown inthis section. If necessary, have the chainadjusted by your <strong>MV</strong> <strong>Agusta</strong> dealer.WARNING: If you notice damage orexcessive wear of the chain and therelated sprockets, have them immediatelyreplaced by an authorized <strong>MV</strong><strong>Agusta</strong> dealer. Every time the chain isreplaced, you must always replace thefront and rear sprockets too. Failure toheed this warning can lead to, amongother things, rear wheel lockup with subsequentloss of control that could resultin serious injury or even death.WARNING: Never attempt to makerepairs to a damaged drive chain.Defective chains must be replaced.Repairing the chain can cause the linksor rivets to separate that could result inloss of control and subsequent seriousinjuries or even death.CAUTION: Improper drive chain adjustmentor slack can lead to chain slippageor breakage that could damage the engineand other vital parts of your motorcycle.WARNING: Every time it is requested tooperate the rear wheel hub screws, contactan authorized <strong>MV</strong> <strong>Agusta</strong> dealer. Inorder to tighten the screws, apply a tighteningtorque equal to the value shownin the label placed on the swingarm (see§2.2.). Applying a torque higher than theindicated value can cause the prematuredeterioration of the rear wheel hub,compromising the reliability of themotorcycle and the safety of the rider.- 146 -
