GARDER SA MOTIVATION
STAYING MOTIVATED
u es déterminé à bouger davantage
pour la nouvelle année ? BRAVO!
A
re you motivated to be more active
this year? GOOD! However, I’m sorry
to inform you that the hardest part
is yet to come: staying motivated.
You can always work to maintain your
motivation. I know it’s harder to say it than
to do it, but it’s possible. I stumble upon this
three-step trick to help you stay motivated.
• Set a realistic goal. When I decided to do my
first half-marathon, I had eight months to get
ready. I know it was a possible and realistic.
• One victory at a time. Every time you work
out, you should have a victory to celebrate.
Something positive that will motivate you to
keep training and, eventually, achieve your
goals.
• Treat yourself. I specifically think about
winter runners with this one. It’s hard to find
the will to go running after a long day of work
in -15 degree weather. However, think about a
book you’ll read in the hot bath you’ll draw for
yourself. THAT’S motivating!
Happy new year!
