ABSTRACT
This is a study of the effects of using team teaching in the teaching and
learning (T&L) of Business Studies subjects for sixth-formers
(equivalent to A-level), as well as the dynamics that happens between
the two senior teachers in storming and norming till fruition of the
objectives of the syllabus. A few team teaching pedagogical methods
were used interchangeably throughout two semesters of the T&L of
Business Studies. Reflections from students of the usage of this
method were collected and analysed and the results show that the
students enjoyed this pedagogical method as compared to previous
single teacher T&L method. Team teaching improves students’ learning
outcomes, retention rates, interpersonal skills, communication skills
besides quickening understanding, boosting confidence and increasing
the liveliness of the classroom. Even though the academic results of
the students did not show big improvement, nevertheless the interest
and confidence of the students increased tremendously. Only some
minor conflicts arose among the teachers as to the methods and styles
of T&L but was easily settled. The biggest challenge was finding the
time to get together to discuss ways to carry out the lessons. In
conclusion, team teaching brings double fun to T&L.
