R E S U M O ABSTRACT
Neste artigo avalia-se o Curso de Administração
da UFMG, comparando um levantamento feito
em 2003 com outro realizado em 2002,
envolvendo, cada um deles, 245 alunos. O
respectivo questionário contém nove perguntas
(cinco qualitativas e quatro quantitativas). No
caso das perguntas qualitativas, tabelas-resumo
são apresentadas, contendo informações muito
significativas. As quantitativas podem ser assim
resumidas: Curso medíocre (69,8 pontos em
2003, e 67,7 em 2002) e professores ruins (63,2
e 60,8). Já a auto-avaliação dos alunos foi mais
generosa: colegas (73,0 e 71,1 pontos) e pessoal
(73,6 e 74,7).
Comprova-se que os alunos são muito críticos
em relação ao Curso e aos professores, mas não
tanto com eles próprios. É necessário que se
conscientizem de que são parte do co-governo
universitário, que é o único meio para melhorar
as instituições de ensino superior. Recomendase
elaborar um Plano de Melhoria do Curso,
alicerçado nos princípios e nas técnicas da Gestão
da Qualidade Total dos processos educativos.

In this article the Course of Administration of the
Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) is
evaluated, comparing a survey performed in 2002
with another one accomplished in 2002 – each one
of them envolving 245 students. The survey
questionnaire contains nine questions (five
qualitative and four quantitative). In the case of the
qualitative questions, summary-tables, comprising
very significant information, are presented in the
study. The answers to the quantitative questions
can be condensed in the following form: Mediocre
course (69,8 points em 2003, and 67,7 em 2002);
Bad teachers (63,2 e 60,8 respectively). The students
self-evaluation was more generous: Classmates
evaluation (73,0 e 71,1 points) and Personal
evaluation (73,6 and 74,7).
Based on those resuls one can verify that students
are very critical in relation to the course and to
the teachers, but not so much in regard their own
evaluations. It is necessary that the students
become aware that they take part of the academic
co-government, which is the only way to improve
the higher education institutions. Therefore, the
formulation of a Course Improvements Plan –
designated to consolidate the tenets and
techniques Total Quality Management into the
educational processe – is highly recommended.
