policies and procedures.
The CCR Group had no dismissed and/o punished for corruption, in 2008. The Company has
record of any court action related to this type of occurrence, neither did it break or cancel contracts
due to violations caused by this type of conduct.
CCR supports the creation of public policies in the transportation area, via public-private
partnerships (PPP). In 2006, the Group established the first PPP in the mass transportation
area, in Brazil, for operating the concession of Line 4 of the São Paulo Metro.
One of the Group’s principles is to act in harmony with the established authorities and
powers, in support of public policies and practices that promote economic growth and social
well-being. However, it has no structured and specific policy that guides its participation in
developing public policies and lobbies.
The companies of the CCR Group are subject to assessments by the Granting Authorities,
for alleged nonfulfillment of the Concession Contract, with the application of sanctions,
except in very rare cases. At the administrative level, the sanctions can merely be warnings,
campaigns regarding defensive driving, such as the Road to Citizenship program
that has already benefited over 700,000 people by releasing information on traffic
safety. At times when traffic is heavier on the highways, the concessionaires hold
accident prevention campaigns, by distributing educational materials that alert to the
importance of practicing safe conduct at the wheel. All of the norms and laws established
by the National Council of Advertising Self-Regulation (Conselho Nacional de Auto-
Regulamentação Publicitária-CONAR) are followed.
CCR has no record of fines due to actions caused by users during the period covered by
the report (2008). In very rare cases, the sanctions applied by the Granting Authority, due
to eventual nonfulfillment of the concession contracts, are not significant.
