88 A dendrocronologia, por sua vez, tem-se mostrado muito eficiente em estudos com espécies arbustivas e herbáceas, bem como em espécies arbóreas na floresta tropical. Com o presente estudo acredita-se que também seja aplicável nas lianas, apesar das limitações e ressalvas. Permitindo assim conhecer parâmetros úteis no manejo florestal e conservação, como o crescimento secundário do caule e a idade. Por fim, nota-se a importância de mais estudos com outros hábitos, especialmente com lianas, visto a importância destes componentes florestais e a escassez de estudos a seu respeito. Sejam estes estudos de natureza anatômica, ecológica, fisiológica, entre outras.
