ABSTRACTThis study was care out to evaluate the influences of inclusion of by-product of coconut (0,6, 12 and 18%) on the digestibilidade coefficients and the consumption of the rations. Eightmale sheep between six and ten months old were used. Installed in metabolism cages, withwater and mineral mixture “ad libitum” and fed with the experimental diets. The statisticalplanning was in randomized blocks and the statistical analyses with the regression equationswere done by the SISVAR 3.0 program. There was not significant difference (P>0,05%) ofdigestibility coefficients of dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), organic matter (OM),energy, hemicelulose (HEM), cellular content (CC), not fibrous carbohydrates (NFC) andnutritious digestible total digestible nutrient (TDN). In relation to ether extract (EE), as theby-product was included in the ration there was significant increase (P < 0,05) indigestibility coefficient. As for NDF and ADF there was decrease as it was made theinclusion of by-product. In relation to nutrients consume, the values of DM, CP, EE, OM,NDF, TCHO, HEM, CC and TND, decreased significantly (P < 0,05), just having increasein EE consumption. Over 6% of inclusion, the coconut crumb influenced negatively theconsumption and the digestibilidade of nutrients.Key words: ruminant nutrition, by-product, copra9
