Vejo uma disponibilidade de madeira fina dentro de dois anos ainda bem acima da demanda, mas não vejo, por exemplo, de madeira grossa >> Com a retomada da economia, quais são as tendências para o preço dos produtos finais de madeira do setor florestal? Não vai ser uma retomada rápida, porque hoje as empresas estão bem estruturadas e, dentro de seus planos de manejos, elas têm uma boa regulação sobre o que precisam de madeira para garantir suas atividades. Já as pequenas e médias propriedades, os investidores, muitos não fizeram um bom planejamento na implantação das florestas, não estão fazendo um bom manejo de suas florestas. Isso tem prejudicado o preço no atual momento e vejo com preocupação o mercado futuro. Por exemplo, vejo muita gente falando sobre essa falta de manejo: vejo uma disponibilidade de madeira fina dentro de dois anos ainda bem acima da demanda, mas não vejo, por exemplo, de madeira grossa. Eles não estão fazendo o manejo, muitos por causa dos preços baixos da madeira hoje. Eles estão eliminando florestas ao invés de fazer o desmate e conduzir manejo. Então não está havendo aquela preocupação com floresta para múltiplos produtos. Acredito que pequenas e médias empresas localizadas em várias regiões terão muita dificuldade para ter o seu suplemento de madeira garantido. Até porque muitas das grandes empresas que participavam do mercado de toras estão com foco na madeira fina, pensando em papel e celulose, madeira reconstituída. Elas estão focando na autossuficiência. >> Muitos produtores estão focando na produção de madeira fina. Esta vai ser a tendência, a madeira grossa vai ser deixada de lado? Não aposto nisso, porque se eu me colocar no lugar do produtor rural, ele vai lucrar manejando a floresta e produzindo madeira grossa. Madeira fina, infelizmente, ele depende muito da questão microrregional. Se ele tem uma indústria de frango, se ele tem uma indústria de celulose, With the recovery of the economy, what are the trends for the prices of final timber products from the Forest Sector? I believe that small and medium-sized timber processing companies located in various regions will have great difficulty in getting guaranteed timber log supply. Because many of the large companies involved in the timber log market are focusing on thin logs, thinking of pulp and paper, and reconstituted wood. They are focusing on self-sufficiency. Many producers are focusing on the production of thin logs. Will this be the trend, and thick logs left aside? I am not betting on this, because if I put myself in the place of the rural producer, he will profit from managing the forest and producing thick logs. Thin logs, unfortunately, depend a lot on the microregional issue. Whether it has a chicken industry or a pulp or panel industry, or there is a demand for consuming this timber. Thick logs can support transportation over a greater distance, and therefore, provide a range with more options. Sometimes, small and medium-sized sawmills can pay for shipping over a greater distance. So, many producers invest in thin log production thinking of a quick return. But, like I said, what happened in 2007 and 2008: a lot of people thought about producing thin logs because the companies that produced thick logs began to adjust their production areas, directing their thin log production to meet the demand of their factories to avoid buying land or reducing the need for outsourcing thin logs, aiming at self-sufficiency, and the thick log market was opened up because of this environment. Some companies withdrew from the market, others today sell thicker logs than they used to. So, thinking about the producer question, I believe there is a need for a good case study in each region before simply implementing a project. There is a lack of forestry engineering at the time of carrying out these projects. I believe you have to carry out proper planning, looking at the future market prospects.
