Afesta do dinheiro barato observada durante os anos mais críticos da pandemia de Covid-19 em 2020 e 2021 decididamente acabou. Quando os juros estavam em 2% ao ano, as fintechs de crédito, plataformas e assessorias de investimento desafiavam os grandes bancos. Quando a taxa básica (Selic) subiu de 2% para 2,75% ao ano em março de 2021, nenhuma projeção entre os melhores economistas imaginava que o ciclo de alta alcançaria 13,75% ao ano em agosto de 2022. Enfim, com a ponderação de que o efeito da política monetária demora alguns meses para ser sentido na economia, nas últimas semanas, o mercado financeiro começou a dar sinais do início de uma onda de ajustes nos negócios. Ou seja, a realidade bateu e se traduz do pior jeito: em demissões. Na segunda-feira (6), o banco digital C6 passou o facão e, segundo informações do Sindicato dos Bancários de São Paulo, mandou embora 500 funcionários, aproximadamente 12% de sua força de trabalho. Em nota à Reuters, o C6 Bank confirmou as demissões, sem detalhar o número exato. “Como é praxe nas empresas que buscam o melhor nível de eficiência nos mercados em que estão inseridas, o grupo avalia periodicamente a produtividade das equipes e, quando necessário, faz readequações de cargos e profissionais, bem como adequações de suas estruturas ao momento do negócio”, informou a instituição por meio de nota. O banco acrescentou, ainda, que “deve encerrar 2023 com 800 contratações e superará em centenas de posições o número de profissionais desligados”. Além do C6, o Nubank também fez cortes. No caso, específicos para a área de assessoria de investimentos, que atendia poucos clientes, e demitiu 40 profissionais. Em nota, o Nubank parece ter usado a mesma argumentação que o C6 e produziu uma resposta muito similar. Informou que, como muitas empresas, realiza regularmente ajustes de acordo com as necessidades do negócio. Segundo a instituição, na prática, os clientes seguem com seus recursos de- vidamente aplicados nos investimentos escolhidos, tendo acesso aos aplicativos Nubank e NuInvest, assim como plataformas de conteúdo, onde podem obter extenso material sobre investimentos e educação financeira, sem a necessidade do serviço de assessoria. No dia 6, o Nubank também anunciou a inclusão do Tesouro Direto em seu aplicativo, facilitando a vida dos investidores que antes precisavam mandar ordens para a corretora NuInvest. Nos dias atuais, ainda é profunda a diferença entre uma boa assessoria pessoal e um relacionamento com aplicativos, em que a experiência do usuário nem sempre é a mais completa e funcional. Nessas horas, os altos executivos não costumam dar as caras e as instituições se comunicam apenas por meio de notas. Na cobertura sobre o banco, por exemplo, a Bloomberg citou que o principal sociofundador do Nubank, o bilionário colombiano David Vélez, se mudou para o Uruguai há cerca de um ano, e vive entre a pacata Punta del Este e o bairro de Carrasco, em Montevidéu. Por aqui, a instituição afirma que aumentou de 6 mil para 8 mil o número de funcionários em 2022 e que segue contratando, no ritmo adequado para seus planos em 2023. EFEITO SELIC Na avaliação do fundador da Efund Investimentos, Igor Romeiro, esse início de demissões é influenciado pela alta expressiva dos juros, que altera a dinâmica do mercado que existia nos últimos anos. “No caso do Nubank, o negócio de assessoria de investimentos não fazia sentido para eles. É diferente do que fazem XP e BTG que concentram a maior parte dos escritórios de agentes e ainda crescem com esse modelo”, disse. Sobre o caso do C6 Bank, Romeiro observou que várias fintechs de crédito estão demitindo por causa da alta dos juros. “Alguns analistas prevêem juros de 14% a 15% ao ano, esse é um custo muito elevado para captação. Na outra ponta, os clientes evitam empréstimos com juros tão caros na ponta final”, afirmou. “Vamos ver mais demissões.” Romeiro afirmou que na época dos juros mais baixos, os salários do segmento estavam no pico. “Era preciso ter gente para dar conta de milhões de pessoas que estavam entrando na Bolsa. Agora, temos até influencers famosos demitindo parte de suas equipes porque a demanda por informações sobre renda variável diminuiu.” Refere-se aqui ao Me Poupe, de Nathalia Arcuri, que cortou 70 pessoas, 50% da equipe. O grupo Primo também fez seu ajuste. Estaria agora com cerca de 190 pessoas, mas já foram 270. Para o CEO da fintech Meu Vista, Luiz Fernando Schvartzman, o segmento de assessoria de investimento está em transformação no mundo todo, principalmente nos EUA, onde a atividade é criticada pelo conflito de interesse na oferta de produtos mais arriscados que são comissionados. “Eles estão sendo substituídos por planejadores financeiros, que não recebem comissões por produtos, um modelo mais transparente para os investidores ”, disse Schvartzman.
