In the second half of the XX th century, Minovici brothers have<br />
represented remarkable names in the scientific elite of Europe.<br />
Mina Minovici (1858-1933) has established, 20 december 1892, The<br />
mortuary of Bucharest city having a statute of national institute, which<br />
constituted a model for those times an d has become a symbol of Legal Medicine<br />
and Criminology. His major work, Complete treaty of legal medecine, romanian<br />
and foreign legislation and jurisprudence, 2 volumes, (2072 pages), 1928-1930,<br />
has been appraised by the famous french criminologist Edmond Locard, who<br />
declared Mina had overpassed his great professors A. Lacassagne and P.<br />
Brouardel.<br />
Ştefan Minovici (1867-1935) was an initiator of analytic, experimental<br />
and medico-legal chemistry and asserted in criminology through microscopical<br />
and photpgraphic examinations (with a machine he made and was appreciated as<br />
one of the most performant at that time) for discovering forged and counterfeit.<br />
Also, he studied biological and poisons traces. He established the The romanian<br />
graphology society (1934).<br />
Nicolae Minovici (1868-1941) has published in 1904, the first legal<br />
medecine didactic romanian course (1006 pages), prefaced by Paul Brouardel,<br />
and almost half of it is dedicated to the new science, Criminology, and was<br />
considered by A. Lacassagne as unique in the expert literature. During that same<br />
year, 1904, he printed Study over hanging, based on the experiences made on his<br />
own body, these having a contribution to his ending. He militated for applying A.<br />
Bertillon's anthropometric identification, and then for imposing the finger-print<br />
identification, his achievements being appreciated by Juan Vucetici. He<br />
established Legal-medecine magazine, 1936.<br />
In the foreword to Scientific (technical) police didactic course, printed in<br />
Paris, 1911, R.A.Reiss, the founder of the first scientific police department in the<br />
world, in Lausanne, Switzerland, places Minovici brothers after Bertillon şi Hans<br />
Gross, as founders of Criminology.<br />

ştiinţei. Puţini ştiu însă că ei sunt<br />
consideraţi printre ctitorii noii ştiinţe<br />
care s-a desprins din Medicina
