RUSSIAN DENVER / HORIZON 8 N22/851 от 06.10.2016 e-mail: info@gorizont.com Simply the best By Elizabeth Goldbaum The Bios Incube is an incubator that monitors and cultivates trees from human ashes. Instead of keeping a departed loved one’s ashes in an urn over the fireplace, why not breathe new life into them, in the form of a tree that can sit in your living room or outside on your porch? A new gadget helps you nurture life from ashes, and regardless of how green your thumbs are, it offers a way to keep loved ones close after they die. The Bios Incube, created by the company Bios Urn, is an incubator that monitors and cultivates trees from human ashes By Christopher Wanjek Music may be food for the soul, but the food and beverages that pop singers endorse these days may be more like food for the grave, according to a new study. Nearly every food or beverage endorsed by musicians who scored a hit in the Billboard Hot Still, the computerized story- ВНИМАНИЮ teller needs ВЛАДЕЛЬЦЕВ a lot more tinkering. This work is a solid start, but it’s just the beginning.» For instance, the system «will occasionally ‘hallucinate’ visual objects that are not there,» Mitchell said. «It’s learning all sorts of words but may not have a clear way of distinguishing between them. So it may think a word systems that learn by example– for instance, learning how to identify cats in photos by analyzing thousands of examples of cat images. The system the researchers devised was similar to those used for automated language translation, but instead of teaching the system to translate from one language to another, the scientists trained it to translate images into sentences. The researchers used Amazon’s Mechanical Turk, a crowdsourcing marketplace, to hire workers to write sentences describing scenes consisting of five or more photos. In total, the workers described more than 65,000 photos for the computer system. These workers’ descriptions could vary, so the scientists preferred to have the system learn from accounts of scenes that were similar to other accounts of those scenes. Then, the scientists fed their system more than 8,100 new images to examine what stories it generated. For instance, while an image captioning program might take five images and say, «This is a picture of a family; this is a picture of a cake; this is a picture of a dog; this is a picture of a beach,» the storytelling program might take those same images and say, «The family got together for a cookout; they had a lot of delicious food; the dog was happy to be there; they had a great time on the beach; they even had a swim in the water.» One challenge the researchers faced was how to evaluate how effective the system was at generating stories. The best and most reliable way to evaluate story quality is human judgment, but the computer generated thousands of stories that would take people a lot of time and effort to examine. Instead, the scientists tried means Интернет something сайты that it ВСЕХ doesn’t, русских Mitchell said. бизнесов «That could help automated methods for evaluating story quality, to quickly as- is и in частных an image when предпринимателей it is not.» For instance, for security cam- and so [it will] say that something provide interesting applications. sess computer performance. Computerized storytelling «can also help people who are visually impaired, to open up images for people who can’t see them.» If AI ever learns to tell stories based on sequences of images, «that’s a stepping stone toward doing the same for video,» Для этого надо занести информацию than a year, the Bios Incube is о a своем enough бизнесе fertilizer; ДО and НОВОГО soil temperature, ГОДА should по or should адресу not be left out- to make sure the soil side, Molin? said, or whether a new product designed for people who want to keep their trees maintains www.gorizont.com/letmein a consistent temperature, plant should be moved from one close instead of planting them Molin? said. It may be true that musicians have rarely been models for clean living; Keith Richards isn’t exactly the poster child for broccoli, for example. But the researchers have highlighted a recent trend: Modern pop stars are offered multimillion-dollar contracts to endorse fast food, sugary beverages and other junk food. [10 Ways to Promote Kids’ Healthy Eating Habits] These endorsements, mostly in the form of internet ads, are targeted directly to adolescents, placing these young people at risk for the early development of obesity and diabetes, the researchers said. Video ads for Pepsi featuring music celebrities were viewed over 160 million times, largely by the targeted teen audience, the data revealed. The study was published Monday (June 6) in the journal Pediatrics. This is the first comprehensive study to evaluate the healthfulness of food and drinks marketed by music stars, the researchers said. The review included dozens of musicians and the products tied to their names. «Research has already shown
