Zero resistivity transition temperature(T c ) <strong>of</strong> the samples produced via the Standard solid-state reaction method is estimated fromthe dc resistivity measurements. Moreover, the phase fraction and lattice parameters aredetermined from XRD measurements when the microstructure, surface morphology andelement composition analyses <strong>of</strong> the samples are investigated by SEM and EDXmeasurements, respectively. It is found that T c values increase from 109 K to 114 K.According to the refinement <strong>of</strong> cell parameters done by considering the structural modulation,the MgB 2 addition is confirmed by both an increase <strong>of</strong> the lattice parameter c and a decrease<strong>of</strong> the lattice parameter a <strong>of</strong> the samples in comparison with that <strong>of</strong> the pure sample. SEMmeasurements show that not only do the surface morphology and grain connectivity degradebut the grain sizes <strong>of</strong> the samples decrease with the increase <strong>of</strong> the MgB 2 addition, as well.46
