city, Doha via teleconference expressed<br />
that the co-operation of<br />
these two postal establishments<br />
was the best example of the momentum<br />
gained about e-commerce<br />
and said, “Our co-operation<br />
will not be limited to this. It will<br />
become increasingly widespread<br />
in other areas and will open the<br />
way for not only the two countries’<br />
co-operation but also to cooperate<br />
with other countries together.”<br />
Speaking at the launching meeting,<br />
Qatar Transportation and<br />
Communications Minister Mr. Casim<br />
es-Saliti said that the volume<br />
of electronic commerce in Qatar<br />
recently approached 4 billion Qatari<br />
Riyal in the recent period, and<br />
they planned to reach 10 billion<br />
Qatar Riyal by 2020. Speaking at<br />
the launching meeting, PTT Corporation<br />
Chairman and General<br />
Manager Mr. Kenan Bozgeyik<br />
announced at the International<br />
e-Trade Conference held in Antalya<br />
that launching of the e-Commerce<br />
Project which was completed<br />
within the framework of the<br />
co-operation agreement between<br />
Qatar Post and PTT Corporation<br />
determined to be held on 1st January<br />
<strong>2018</strong>. Mr. Bozgeyik, who stated<br />
that the said project will be an<br />
example in the world in terms of<br />
postal organizations, noted that<br />
the project will bring the relations<br />
of the two countries to the highest<br />
level.<br />
Emphasizing the importance of<br />
the project’s timing in a period<br />
when the direction of the business<br />
world shifts towards e-commerce<br />
era, Mr. Bozgeyik said that Turkey<br />
which could not get enough<br />
share from the world’s e-commerce<br />
market which has reached<br />
3 trillion US by the end of 2017 will<br />
enlarge its market position. Emphasizing<br />
that the e-commerce<br />
market in Turkey grows day by<br />
day, Mr. Bozgeyik stated that this<br />
project will increase e-commerce<br />
related use of Qatar citizens and<br />
will contribute enlargement of<br />
the market. Mr. Bozgeyik, who remarks<br />
that as of today Qatar citizens<br />
will be able to reach products<br />
of many Turkish SMEs and national<br />
brands via www.turkishsouq.qa<br />
web site with a single click and can<br />
shop by using their credit cards<br />
under assurance of postal organizations<br />
of two countries, stated,<br />
“This valuable project will give<br />
Turkish SMEs the opportunity of<br />
exporting their products to abroad<br />
easily. While the trade between our<br />
countries will be developing by the<br />
realization of the first phase of the<br />
project, our Qatari fellows will also<br />
be able to buy many Turkish products<br />
with suitable transportation<br />
fees and our sellers will be able<br />
to export their products quickly<br />
and easily.” CEO of Qatar Post<br />
Faleh Al-Naemi, stated during his<br />
speech that the mentioned project<br />
will provide millions of products to<br />
customers in Qatar and the website<br />
will respond to the needs of<br />
