They realized what no one thought before
Qatari citizens will be able to reach products of many SMEs and national brands in Turkey
with a single click through www.turkishsouq.qa website which is realized with the cooperation
agreement between PTT Corporation (Turkish Post) and Qatar Post.

Mr. Ahmet Arslan who attended
the co-operation agreement
which was held in Qatar’s capital
city, Doha via teleconference expressed
that the co-operation of
these two postal establishments
was the best example of the momentum
gained about e-commerce
and said, “Our co-operation
will not be limited to this. It will
become increasingly widespread
in other areas and will open the
way for not only the two countries’
co-operation but also to cooperate
with other countries together.”
Speaking at the launching meeting,
Qatar Transportation and
Communications Minister Mr. Casim
es-Saliti said that the volume
of electronic commerce in Qatar
recently approached 4 billion Qatari
Riyal in the recent period, and
they planned to reach 10 billion
Qatar Riyal by 2020. Speaking at
the launching meeting, PTT Corporation
Chairman and General
Manager Mr. Kenan Bozgeyik
announced at the International
e-Trade Conference held in Antalya
that launching of the e-Commerce
Project which was completed
within the framework of the
co-operation agreement between
Qatar Post and PTT Corporation
determined to be held on 1st January
2018. Mr. Bozgeyik, who stated
that the said project will be an
example in the world in terms of
postal organizations, noted that
the project will bring the relations
of the two countries to the highest
level.
Emphasizing the importance of
the project’s timing in a period
when the direction of the business
world shifts towards e-commerce
era, Mr. Bozgeyik said that Turkey
which could not get enough
share from the world’s e-commerce
market which has reached
3 trillion US by the end of 2017 will
enlarge its market position. Emphasizing
that the e-commerce
market in Turkey grows day by
day, Mr. Bozgeyik stated that this
project will increase e-commerce
related use of Qatar citizens and
will contribute enlargement of
the market. Mr. Bozgeyik, who remarks
that as of today Qatar citizens
will be able to reach products
of many Turkish SMEs and national
brands via www.turkishsouq.qa
web site with a single click and can
shop by using their credit cards
under assurance of postal organizations
of two countries, stated,
“This valuable project will give
Turkish SMEs the opportunity of
exporting their products to abroad
easily. While the trade between our
countries will be developing by the
realization of the first phase of the
project, our Qatari fellows will also
be able to buy many Turkish products
with suitable transportation
fees and our sellers will be able
to export their products quickly
and easily.” CEO of Qatar Post
Faleh Al-Naemi, stated during his
speech that the mentioned project
will provide millions of products to
customers in Qatar and the website
will respond to the needs of
Qatar market.
