• 89 pnömoni tanılı çocuk hastanın dahil edildiği bir
çalışmada: USG ile pozitif hasta sayısı: 88 iken X-ray ile
pozitif hasta sayısı: 81 tespit edilmiştir. Aynı çalışmada
tekrarlayan USG ler ile klinik düzelmeyle korele olarak
konsalidasyon alanlarının küçüldüğü veya kaybolduğu
gözlemlenmiştir

USG’ nin pnömonideki tanısal değeri için sensitivity 96%,
specificity 93% saptanmıştır.
Sonuç olarak hem tanı hem takip için kullanışlı, hızlı, hasta
başı ve radyasyonsuz bir yöntem olan akciğer USG; çocuk
hastaların takibinde X-ray yerine tercih edilebilir.
