Comments and examples
The agency is responsible for the administration of a number of cross-sectoral
legislative business acts including The Company Accunts Act and The Public -
and Private Copmanies Acts. The agency is, furthermore, responsible for a
variety of commercial laws applicable to certain types of business such as
accountants, real estate agents, authorised translators, interpreters, and
restaurants and hotels as well as the HomeService Scheme.
The Danish FSA administrates the regulation of financial institutions and further
companies listed by the stock-exchange.
The Danish Maritime Authority administrates the regulation of the shipping
trade. This includes the administration of the Working Environment Legislation
and other legislative areas, which outside the shipping trade, is regulated
cross-sectorally.
The Agency administrates the lateral Commercial Tennancy Legislation and
the sector-based Construction regulation.
Statistics Denmark is responsible for the retrival of both statistic data from
the business environment in general, and for the sector-based statistics.
The agency has overall responsibility for the sector-based legislation concerning
gas safety in connection with all types of gas installations and
plants, and further for electrical safety, both in connection with production,
transmission, distribution and the use of electricity.
Furthermore the Agency administers general product safety, including
safety control of consumer products in general, and the specific regulation
of sertain products, for example fireworks.
The Danish Energy Authority administrates regulation related to to the
production, supply and consumption of energy within the different energy
producing sectors (oil, natural gas, heat, electricity etc.).
The Authority is responsible for matters related to competition i.e the legislation
is relevant for the entire business environment.
Total administrative costs – approximately 9 billion
The result of the evaluation shows that the business related legislation imposes
costs on the private sector amounting to a total of approximately 9 billion d.kr. a
year. The table below illustrates the result of the analysis sorted according to the 8
agencies that the Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs comprises.
