Comments and examples<br />
The agency is responsible for the administration of a number of cross-sectoral<br />
legislative business acts including The Company Accunts Act and The Public -<br />
and Private Copmanies Acts. The agency is, furthermore, responsible for a<br />
variety of commercial laws applicable to certain types of business such as<br />
accountants, real estate agents, authorised translators, interpreters, and<br />
restaurants and hotels as well as the HomeService Scheme.<br />
The Danish FSA administrates the regulation of financial institutions and further<br />
companies listed by the stock-exchange.<br />
The Danish Maritime Authority administrates the regulation of the shipping<br />
trade. This includes the administration of the Working Environment Legislation<br />
and other legislative areas, which outside the shipping trade, is regulated<br />
cross-sectorally.<br />
The Agency administrates the lateral Commercial Tennancy Legislation and<br />
the sector-based Construction regulation.<br />
Statistics Denmark is responsible for the retrival of both statistic data from<br />
the business environment in general, and for the sector-based statistics.<br />
The agency has overall responsibility for the sector-based legislation concerning<br />
gas safety in connection with all types of gas installations and<br />
plants, and further for electrical safety, both in connection with production,<br />
transmission, distribution and the use of electricity.<br />
Furthermore the Agency administers general product safety, including<br />
safety control of consumer products in general, and the specific regulation<br />
of sertain products, for example fireworks.<br />
The Danish Energy Authority administrates regulation related to to the<br />
production, supply and consumption of energy within the different energy<br />
producing sectors (oil, natural gas, heat, electricity etc.).<br />
The Authority is responsible for matters related to competition i.e the legislation<br />
is relevant for the entire business environment.<br />
Total administrative costs – approximately 9 billion<br />
The result of the evaluation shows that the business related legislation imposes<br />
costs on the private sector amounting to a total of approximately 9 billion d.kr. a<br />
year. The table below illustrates the result of the analysis sorted according to the 8<br />
agencies that the Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs comprises.<br />
