DGC-report 228.1.1 Alternative application of the biogasHMN Naturgas I/S examined the possibilities of upgrading and injecting theentire biogas production into the natural gas grid. It turned out that the 40bar distribution grid in the municipality has sufficiently high capacity totake the entire biogas production.This solution means that the biogas grid can be established in smaller dimensionsand, in addition, parts of the grid can be omitted. Upgrading allbiogas also means that the modifications at the CHP plants including conversionand replacement of gas engines will be superfluous, as they will besupplied as they are today. The result will be significantly lower investmentscosts. Instead of 347 mio. DKK, as shown above, the required investmentwill be 255 mio. DKK - including upgrading units. However, operationof the upgrading plants will lead to significantly higher operationand maintenance costs.
