AKM and Sundowner #3
On June 27 th, the working group for SME (“Arbeitskreis Mittelstand” - AKM) was held at Trumpf
Korea, TRUTEC Building. It was followed by a visit to the demo-center of Trumpf Korea, led by Mr.
Friedrich Stockinger, President of Trumpf Korea and Vice President of KGCCI (picture: 2 nd from
right). The AKM was followed by a Sundowner at the rooftop terrace of TRUTEC Building that
was kindly sponsored by Mr. Stockinger and attended by around 60 members.
Delegation trip to the 63 th IAA
Commercial Vehicles International
Motor Show in Hannover
KGCCI has successfully organized a Korean delegation to to IAA Commercial Vehicles from Sep. 26 to Oct. 2, 2010.
Twenty commercial vehicles suppliers from Jeonbuk participated in this delegation and visited IAA, the factories
of MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG in München, Daimler AG in Wörth and Trumpf Laser- und Systemtechnik GmbH in
Ditzingen. At the IAA, Jeonbuk Technopark signed a MoU with the German Association of the Automotive Industry
(VDA Managing Director Mr. Bräunig, left) for establishing a close relationship and enable the participation of
companies from Jeonbuk at the 64 th IAA Commercial Vehicles International Motor Show 2012.

Around 70 Korean CEOs welcomed Trade Minister Kim Jong-hoon on September 29 th to the 7 th KGCCI Korean
Executive Forum (KEF) at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Seoul. Minister Kim gave a 50 minutes overview on current
FTA issues and the status quo regarding Korea-EU FTA, to be effective from mid 2011. The KEF was a huge success
and all participating KGCCI members enjoyed the exclusive insights, followed by an excellent course menue.
Patent Law Seminar
On September 28 th, KGCCI successfully held a patent law seminar in cooperation with the leading
international patent law firms Witte, Weller & Partner (Germany), Kan and Krishme (India)
and Morrison & Foerster LLP (USA). The lawyers informed 40 representatives of Korean pharma,
biotechnology and chemistry companies about specific requirements for patent filing and recent
cases of patent protection strategies in the dynamic markets EU, India and USA.
Breakfast Meeting with
H.E. Dr. Seidt
On September 16 th , KGCCI hosted a breakfast meeting with German Ambassador
Dr. Hans-Ulrich Seidt at Millennium Seoul Hilton Hotel. Dr. Seidt presented
recent trends in the bilateral relations and an outlook regarding upcoming
EU-Korea FTA.
