and call for papers<br />
The Department of <strong>Mining</strong> Engineering of the Universidad de Chile and the <strong>Mining</strong> Centre of the<br />
Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, are pleased to invite executives, academics, professionals<br />
and technical experts to participate in the iv international conference on mining<br />
innovation - minin 2010, to be held on 23 – 25 June 2010, in Santiago, Chile.<br />
objectives<br />
MININ 2010 is organised to provide an international forum where<br />
experts may analyse and discuss innovations and recent developments<br />
in mine planning, operations optimisation, equipment development<br />
and management of the mining business. The Conference aims to:<br />
• Promote the exchange of best practices and<br />
experiences applied to mining processes<br />
• Discuss emerging trends and developments and<br />
identify best practices in the mining industry<br />
• Promote the development of an interdisciplinary<br />
international network for technical collaboration<br />
and exchange among professionals engaged in the<br />
planning and development of mining processes<br />
abstract submission<br />
Prospective authors are invited to submit a 300 word abstract<br />
in English, until 11 October 2009, to minin@minin2010.com The<br />
abstract must be in MS Word, including a 100 character title,<br />
full author’s name, position, company, business address, phone<br />
number and email. If accepted, a full article up to 10 pages long<br />
will be required by 23 November 2009. All final papers accepted<br />
for publication will be included in the Conference Proceedings.<br />
The technical program will be comprised of oral and poster<br />
presentations; the form of presentation for each paper will be<br />
decided upon the receipt of its final version. English–Spanish<br />
simultaneous translation will be provided during the Conference,<br />
thus, the oral presentation may be made in either language.<br />
