wichtiges Argument.
In the District of Höxter, tourism makes a contribution
both in terms of creating long-term jobs and of boosting
the region as a whole. This is no surprise, as the countryside,
shaped by its farmland, between Teutoburger Wald
and Weserbergland is an attractive destination for holidaymakers
from home and abroad. Outdoor holidays
taking advantage of the many cycling routes and hiking
trails and the health and spa packages in Bad Driburg
are the major attractions for tourists. A total of 130 accommodation
providers in the District of Höxter have
6,200 beds available for guests. The marketing activities
of the various towns are coordinated under the “Kulturland
Kreis Höxter” umbrella brand, raising the profile of
the region as an attractive holiday destination. That creates
and secures jobs. But the positive effects of tourism
are not limited to revenues. Tourism also contributes to
improvements in quality of life and is a significant factor
for companies in the fight to recruit skilled staff.
