Grüne Energie
Biomasse, Holzschnitzel, Sonne und
Wind schaffen gute Voraussetzungen:
Mehr als die Hälfte des Energiebedarfs
wird im Kreis regenerativ
erzeugt. Deshalb darf der Kreis sich
auch Bioenergieregion nennen.
Echte Originale
Weit über 100 Betriebe werden unter der
Regionalmarke Kulturland Kreis Höxter
gebündelt. Viele dieser Klein- und
Kleinstunternehmen wirtschaften
traditionell auf den Dörfern der Region
und bringen einzigartige Produkte auf
den Markt. Aber nicht nur die Produkte
sind unverfälscht, viele ihrer
handwerklichen „Macher“
sind selbst „Echte Originale“.
„Das liebe ich an der Region.
Egal, wo man ist, spätestens
nach fünf Minuten steht man in
der Natur und hat die schönsten
Fotolocations.“
Rolling hills as far as the eye can see. The District
of Höxter is a rural area and is one of the
most densely forested regions in North-Rhine
Westphalia. 144,010 people live here in 124 villages
and ten main towns. In Berlin, in contrast,
3.4 million people live in an area three quarters
the size of the District of Höxter. There are no
urban conurbations – even the district town is
only medium-sized, with its 30,000 inhabitants.
A sixth of the District of Höxter’s population is
under the age of 18, with 99% in some form of
education. Over half of the District’s energy
comes from its own renewable sources.
