Highspeed Current Steering
Clock Oscillators
Complementing the EQJF series
is the EQVJF range of voltagecontrolled
crystal oscillators
(VCXOs) offering frequencies
from 150 to 700 MHz with identical
options and similar RMS
phase jitter performance.
Both ranges feature maximum
ageing of ±3 ppm in first year
(±2 ppm per year thereafter),
duty cycle of 50% ±5% and rise
times of 0.4 ns maximum. Additional
features include start-up
time of 5ms typical, 10ms maximum
and output enable/disable
functions. RoHS compliant, the
new HCSL EQJF oscillators and
EQVJF VCXOs are housed in
industry standard 8-pad, 7 x 5
mm surface mount packages
capable of withstanding 260 °C
for 10 seconds, twice.
Applications include flat panel
displays for consumer TVs,
video streaming systems via
external cables (e.g. LDI), high
speed serial communications
links such as Serial ATA & Fire-
Wire, SONET, xDSL, SDH, settop
box and Ethernet cards.
Frequency control specialist,
Euroquartz is now offering high
speed current steering logic
(HCSL) versions of its ultra-low
phase jitter EQJF clock oscillator
range. HCSL outputs deliver a
less “noisy” solution compared
with static logic types, a major
benefit for mixed low voltage
signal processing and essential
in applications such as optical
communications, PCI-Express
and Intel chipsets etc.
Offering a range of frequencies
from 50 to 700 MHz with
phase jitter of 150 fs typical, 300
fs maximum, this new generation
of oscillators is produced
in the UK and available for
delivery in one to two weeks.
HCSL offers the fastest switching
speeds with power consumption
– at 94 mA typical,
115 mA maximum – lying between
LVCS and LVPECL types.
EQJF series HCSL oscillators
feature a choice of supply voltages
– 1.8, 2.5 or 3.3 V – with
frequency stability specifications
of ±25, ±50 and ±100 ppm over
both commercial (-10 to +70 °C)
and industrial (-40 to +85 °C)
temperature ranges available as
standard. Tighter custom options
can be supplied to special order.
The Company ublox announced
the SARA-G450, a cost-optimized
2G cellular module for
machine-to-machine (M2M)
applications, such as utility
metering and tracking systems.
Provided in the industry-proven
SARA form factor, the
SARAG450 quad-band GSM/
GPRS module lets product
developers easily migrate their
products to 3G, LTE, or LPWA
technology to meet a broad range
of environmental and technological
requirements.
2G cellular technology offers
reliable performance for mobile
applications and broad geographical
coverage. Until recently,
this made it the technology of
choice for machine type connectivity
such as fleet management,
metering and tracking.
While some regions are currently
phasing out their 2G network
