Skew Matched Cable Pairs with 1 ps Delay Match
Fairview Microwave, Inc. has
released a new line of 40 GHz
skew matched cable pairs designed
for bit-error-rate testing,
eye diagrams and differential
signals at data rates of 10 to
28 Gbps.
Fairview’s new line of skew
matched cables consists
of three extremely flexible
models that are 100% tested
for skew match. Performance
specs include an impressive
SWR of 1.4 and 1 ps delay
match. These cable pairs cover
two channels with 50 ohms
nominal impedance and a
bandwidth of DC to 40 GHz.
The skew matched cables in
this new series are constructed
with microporous PTFE cable
dielectric and feature 2.92
mm male connectors, tripleshielded
outer conductors and
finger-grip coupling nuts. They
are also supplied with polarity
indicators and restraint bands
to remain paired. These delay
matched cables are ideal for
semiconductor test, networking
and supercomputing
industries where skew match
is essential.
High-speed AC/
DC Amplifiers with
Precision DC Supply
AE Techron’s new 7100-series
models are 4-quadrant, AC
and DC amplifiers that provide
exceptional versatility and value.
Compact size, user configurability,
DC-Max topology, and AE
Techron toughness make the
7100-series amplifiers the ideal
device for conducted and radiated
immunity testing, PSRR
testing, or any application where
more voltage or current is needed
than is available from the signal
source. Lightweight and just 2U
in height, 7100-series amplifiers
make a great choice when size or
portability are important selection
criteria.
Front panel user controls give
the 7100-series amplifiers a wide
range of possible uses. Gain,
maximum current, and DC offset
can be fixed or infinetely varied.
The choice of AC or DC coupling
makes them suitable both
for DC applications and for driving
objects like coupling transformers
or piezo elements that
shouldn’t see DC. All controls
can be turned off when only a
durable, high-current amplifier
or DC source is needed. Or each
function can be individually
enabled to provide the unique
set of capabilities needed at the
moment.
7100-series amplifiers can produce
a DC output without an
input signal. DC output is independent
of input signal and
amplifier gain. This DC capability,
when combined with an
input signal from a function
generator, creates a versatile DC
source with high-speed ripple
and dropout capabilities.
New Shielded
Enclosure Leak
Detection System
(SELDS)
The AR model CL-105A/CL-
106A Shielded Enclosure Leak
Detection System (SELDS)
provides a convenient means
of testing the electromagnetic
shielding effectiveness of EMI
enclosures. The system consists
of a transmitter, receiver, headphones
and rugged carrying case.
The incredible sensitivity of the
receiver allows it to meet the
most rigid MIL standards (e.g.
MIL-STD-188/125) for shielded
room acceptance. This system is
designed to make relative shielding
effectiveness measurements
by passing a current along the
surface of an EMI enclosure in
order to sense the small magnetic
fields formed where breaks
in the EMI enclosure may occur.
The Model CL-105A Transmitter
is used to generate an output
signal which is connected to the
EMI enclosure under test. This
device has an auto-adjusting
output that works with small,
medium, and large EMI enclosures.
An LED indicator illuminates
green when the Transmitter
has adjusted the output to the
optimum level for the connected
EMI enclosure.
The Model CL-106A Receiver
has high sensitivity to detect
the smallest of magnetic fields
produced at breaks in the EMI
enclosure under test. This unit
auto-zeros and features an
auditory output with varying
amplitude related to the shielding
effectiveness. The auditory
output is available through
the built-in speaker or included
headphones. A 4-digit seven
segment display is provided to
indicate relative shielding effectiveness
measurement values in
dB. In addition, a built-in LED
light source provides illumination
when used in dark environments.
