70 Watt GaN Amplifier
RFMW, Ltd. announced design and sales
support for a broad bandwidth, GaN, solid
state power amplifier from Aethercomm.
Model Number SSPA 0.020-6.000-70 operates
from 20 MHz to 6 GHz and delivers a
typical saturated output power of 70 W for
broad band T&M, military and commercial
applications. Typical small signal gain is
50 to 60 dB with gain flatness of +/-3 dB.
Operating from a 28 V supply, this amplifier
includes an external DC blanking command
that enables and disables the module in
less than 25 µsec. Standard features include
over/under voltage protection and reverse
polarity protection. The SSPA 0.020-6.000-
70 is offered in a modular housing that is
approximately 5.5” (width) by 6.5” (long)
by 2” (height).

75 Ohm FTTH Amplifiers
RFMW, Ltd. announced design and sales
support for a pair of 75 ohm Amplifiers.
Qorvo’s QPB7420 and QPB7425 ICs are
designed to support Fiber to The Home
(FTTH) applications from 47 to 1218 MHz.
Both devices offer noise figure of 1.1 dB.
The QPB7420 is a 5 V device with 20 dB of
flat gain. The QPB7425 operates on 8 V with
25 dB of gain. Both devices are packaged
as SOT-89 for convenient layout and design
in set top and 75 ohm CATV and satellite
infrastructure projects.

High Power FEM for IoT
Applications
RFMW, Ltd. announced design and sales
support for a fully integrated frontend
module (FEM) from Skyworks Solutions.
The SKY85309-11, 2.4 GHz FEM incorporates
a 2.4 GHz single-pole, double-throw
(SPDT) transmit/receive (T/R) switch, a 2.4
GHz low-noise amplifier (LNA) with bypass,
and a 2.4 GHz power amplifier (PA) intended
for high-power 802.11ac applications
and systems. Providing 27 dBm power out
while drawing 555 mA from a 5 V supply,
the SKY85309-11 serves access points,
routers and gateways. Transmit gain of 32
dB improves SoC linearity. Receive gain of
13 dB with noise figure of 2.2 dB improves
receiver sensitivity and range. Offered in a
3 x 5 mm QFN package.
