Kooperation mit Pakistan in der<br />
chemischen Forschung<br />
Am 13. Januar <strong>2011</strong> wurde eine Kooperationsvereinbarung<br />
zwischen der Allama Iqbal Open University<br />
(AIOU) Islamabad, Pakistan und dem Institut für Chemie<br />
der Universität Rostock unterzeichnet. Ziel der<br />
Vereinbarung ist die Stärkung der Forschung auf dem<br />
Gebiet der synthetischen Chemie in Pakistan. Seit<br />
2004 haben bereits 15 Studierende aus Pakistan ihre<br />
wissenschaftliche Qualifikation am Institut für Chemie<br />
der Universität Rostock mit Unterstützung des Deutschen<br />
Akademischen Austauschdienstes (DAAD) erfolgreich<br />
absolviert.<br />
Die vom Rektor der Universität Rostock, Prof. Dr.<br />
Wolfgang Schareck, dem Vizekanzler der AIOU, Prof.<br />
Dr. Nazir A. Sangi und dem Projektleiter an der Universität<br />
Rostock, Prof. Dr. Peter Langer unterzeichnete<br />
Vereinbarung soll die erfolgreiche Kooperation der<br />
letzten Jahre fortsetzen und künftig auch die chemische<br />
Industrie Pakistans verstärkt in diese Kooperation<br />
einbinden.<br />
Cooperation with Pakistan in chemical<br />
research<br />
On 13th January <strong>2011</strong>, a cooperation agreement<br />
was signed between the Allama Iqbal Open University<br />
(AIOU) Islamabad, Pakistan and the Institute for<br />
Chemistry at the University of Rostock. The aim of<br />
this agreement is the strengthening of research in the<br />
field of synthetic chemistry in Pakistan. Since 2004,<br />
15 students from Pakistan have already successfully<br />
completed their scientific qualifications at the University<br />
of Rostock Institute for Chemistry with the support<br />
of the Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienstes<br />
(DAAD) [German <strong>Academic</strong> Exchange Service].<br />
The agreement, signed by the Rector of the University<br />
of Rostock, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schareck, the Rector<br />
of the AIOU, Prof. Dr. Nazir A. Sangi and the Project<br />
Lead at the University of Rostock, Prof. Dr. Peter Langer,<br />
aims to continue the successful cooperation of<br />
recent years and increasingly to include the chemical<br />
industry in Pakistan in the cooperation.
