fördert Graduiertenkolleg<br />
„MuSAMA“ weiter<br />
Die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) hat die<br />
Verlängerung der Förderung des Graduiertenkollegs<br />
“MuSAMA – Multimodal Smart Appliance Ensembles<br />
for Mobile Applications” beschlossen. Unter der Leitung<br />
von Prof. Dr. Thomas Kirste forschen im Kolleg<br />
seit Oktober 2006 zehn Lehrstühle der Fakultät für Informatik<br />
und Elektrotechnik mit 14 Wissenschaftlerinnen<br />
und Wissenschaftler an intelligenten kooperativen<br />
Assistenzsystemen. Solche Assistenzsysteme sollen<br />
in einem „Smart Home“ oder „Smart Office“ Menschen<br />
bei ihren alltäglichen Tätigkeiten intelligent und selbständig<br />
unterstützen. Die DFG stellt ab April <strong>2011</strong> für<br />
viereinhalb Jahre Mittel von mehr als 2,5 Millionen<br />
Euro zur Verfügung. Hiervon können unter anderem<br />
14 Doktorandenstipendien und ein Postdoktorand<br />
gefördert werden. In der zweiten Förderperiode wird<br />
MuSAMA zusätzlich durch die Arbeitsgruppen von drei<br />
neuberufenen Professoren verstärkt (Juniorprofessor<br />
Dr. Lars Schwabe, Prof. Dr. Gero Mühl und Prof. Dr.<br />
Oliver Staadt). Somit kann MuSAMA in seiner Laufzeit<br />
von insgesamt neun Jahren etwa mit 44 Stipendiaten<br />
und etwa ebenso vielen Kollegiaten nahezu 90 Doktoranden<br />
ausbilden.<br />

German Research Foundation continues<br />
its supports of the post-graduate<br />
programme „MuSAMA“<br />
The German Research Foundation (DFG) has resolved<br />
on continuing its support of the post-graduate<br />
programme “MuSAMA – Multimodal Smart Appliance<br />
Ensembles for Mobile Applications”. Led by Prof. Dr.<br />
Thomas Kirste, 14 scientists from ten chairs of the Faculty<br />
of Information Science and Electrical Engineering<br />
have been doing research on smart cooperative<br />
assistance systems in the post-graduate programme<br />
since October 2006. Those assistance systems are to<br />
render autonomous support to people in their everyday<br />
activities in a „smart home“ or „smart office“. Since<br />
April <strong>2011</strong> the DFG is providing more than Euro 2.5<br />
million in funds for 4.5 years. This makes it possible to<br />
sponsor, i.a., 14 doctoral scholarships and one person<br />
writing their post-doctoral thesis to qualify as a university<br />
lecturer. In the second sponsorship period, MuSA-<br />
MA will in addition be reinforced by the work groups<br />
of three newly appointed professors (junior professor<br />
Dr. Lars Schwabe, Prof. Dr. Gero Mühl and Prof. Dr.<br />
Oliver Staadt). Thus MuSAMA is able to train nearly 90<br />
doctoral candidates with approx. 44 scholarship holders<br />
and about the same number of collegiates over<br />
its total term of nine years.<br />
