Paignton is the ideal destination for a delightful Devonshire holiday. Home<br />
to long sandy beaches, a regal promenade and a vibrant seafront, Paignton<br />
is one of the highlights of the beautiful area known as ‘the English Riviera’.<br />
On this holiday to Paignton you can enjoy sightseeing excursions to some<br />
of Devon’s most captivating attractions. Take in the stunning scenery as you<br />
enjoy a nostalgic steam train journey along the South Devon Railway, visit<br />
charming seaside towns such as Dawlish and Teignmouth.<br />
Day 1 After our departure from our last<br />
main pick up point we travel to Wilton<br />
shopping village to enable you to purchase<br />
refreshments and browse the shops before<br />
we continue to our hotel for our four night stay.<br />
Day 2 After breakfast this morning, we<br />
board the Dartmouth Steam Railway in<br />
Paignton, for our 30 minute steam train<br />
journey to Kingswear. The views of the<br />
coastline and the picturesque Devonshire<br />
countryside from our seats on this nostalgic<br />
heritage train are breathtaking. When we<br />
reach Kingswear, we cross the River Dart<br />
to Dartmouth on a foot ferry. Where we have<br />
free time to explore and enjoy lunch before<br />
we re-trace our steps back to our hotel.<br />
Day 3 Today we visit Dawlish and Teignmouth.<br />
The picturesque Victorian town of Dawlish has<br />
decorative flower beds and the Dawlish brook<br />
that runs through the town is home to the<br />
famous black swans. Teignmouth is an historic<br />
port on the mouth of the Teign estuary. It has<br />
all the attractions of a seaside town, including<br />
a Victorian pier, a shopping area and<br />
interesting old back streets.<br />
Day 4 After breakfast we return home via<br />
Salisbury to enable you to purchase<br />
refreshments before we continue our<br />
homeward journey.<br />
