Quartet at Holme Lacy
Come and join us on this excellent value break to Holme Lacy House, a
stunning Grade I listed mansion on the outskirts of Hereford near the
picturesque Wye Valley. This fabulous grade I listed country mansion evokes
the elegance of days gone by combining graceful grandeur with a relaxed
and intimate atmosphere. Surrounding the main house are the formal
gardens, which were restored to their original design. Holme Lacy also
features a great range of facilities and activities which include a leisure centre
with heated pool, sauna & steam room, tennis courts, outdoor bowls green,
archery, freshwater angling, cycle hire plus a library, a choice of three
Restaurants, Terrace Room coffee shop and the Pavilion bar.
Day 1 After our local pick-ups we travel
via the beautiful Cotswold where we make a
suitable stop for you to purchase lunch.
We then continue our journey to Hereford and
arrive at Warner’s with time to relax before
dinner.
Day 2 Today we enjoy a wonderful day in
Worcester including a guided tour of the fine
Cathedral, which holds the royal tomb of King
John, medieval cloisters, and magnificent
Victorian stained glass. There will be some free
time for you to get lunch and explore before
we take a scenic drive back through the
Malvern Hills and arrive back at Warner’s.
Day 3 Today we visit Tewkesbury, and today
is market day with 60-80 stalls. Tewkesbury
presents one of the best medieval townscapes
in England with its fine half-timbered
Tudor buildings, overhanging upperstoreys
and ornately carved doorways. Tewkesbury is
renowned as having one of the best medieval
black and white townscapes in the country and
has much to delight the visitor. Tewkesbury is
dominated by the 12th-century Abbey. Known
to some as the ‘Westminster Abbey’ of the
feudal barony, this beautiful building has
the highest Norman tower in England as
well as rich architecture and artistic heritage.
Also here are the fascinating John Moore
Countryside Museum, the Town Museum and
the Old Baptist Chapel.
Day 4 A day at leisure today to relax and enjoy
the many facilities and activities on offer at the
hotel. There are wonderful grounds to stroll
around, lovely lounges to relax in or maybe
enjoy a Spa Treatment as a treat (local charges
apply)! Alternatively why not join us on an
optional day trip (not included in tour price).
Day 5 After breakfast we depart our hotel and
return home via Newbury, where there will be
enough time to explore and purchase lunch
before we continue our homeward journey.
