from <strong>the</strong> hoard at Podhering in <strong>the</strong> county of Bereg,** two from Sajo-Gomor in <strong>the</strong> county<br />

of Gomor,*' two from Munkacs in Upper Hungary/* one, found with two of Type E,<br />

at Rima-Szombat in <strong>the</strong> county of G6m6r/=' one from Endrod in <strong>the</strong> county of Bekes/*<br />

one, found with four o<strong>the</strong>rs, from Magyarorszag,*' one from Gross-Steffelsdorf near<br />

Sajo-G6m6r,3° one, foimd with a sword of Type E, from near Plattensee or Lake<br />

Balaton,^^ <strong>and</strong> one from <strong>the</strong> Danube near Buda-Pest.^*<br />

One has been found at Burkanow in Galicia,^^ one in Upper Austria, one near Linz,^*<br />

five in Lower Austria, two at unknown sites, one at Mannersdorf,^' one with a hoard<br />

including Type E swords at Wollersdorf,^* <strong>and</strong> one in a wood near Wimpasting. One<br />

comes from Griibegg near Aussee in Styria,'' <strong>and</strong> two from Carniola, one of which is from<br />

Mihovo near St. Bar<strong>the</strong>lma, <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r from an uncertain site.^^ Szombathy figures<br />

two fragments from a swallow-hole near St. Kanzian, not far from Trieste.''<br />

In Italy <strong>the</strong> type is of common occurrence, but in a definitely restricted area.<br />

One has been found on <strong>the</strong> bank of <strong>the</strong> Chiano by <strong>the</strong> bridge of Frassineto near Arezzo<br />

<strong>and</strong> is in <strong>the</strong> Arezzo museum,*" two near Lake Trasimene,*' where a specimen of Type C<br />

was found, one of sUghtly aberrant form at Alerona, in <strong>the</strong> commune of Ficulle, near<br />

Orvieto, <strong>and</strong> which is now in <strong>the</strong> Prehistoric Museum at Rome,** <strong>and</strong> ano<strong>the</strong>r, which<br />

also presents unusual features, in Rome itself.*' Two specimens have been found at<br />

Lake Fucino,** <strong>and</strong> a third close by at Dintorni del Fucino,*^ one a Uttle to <strong>the</strong> east at<br />

Sulmona,** <strong>and</strong> one ra<strong>the</strong>r fur<strong>the</strong>r afield at Apulia.*' Thus all <strong>the</strong>se specimens, ten of<br />

Type D <strong>and</strong> one of Type C, have been found in a very restricted area, almost all of <strong>the</strong>m<br />
