ANCIENT SONGS
33. Another Romance, that feems to be a kind of
continuation of this laft, intitled, Otuel a Knight,
(Numb, xxviii. in 1 1 leaves and a half.) The two firft
lines are,
Kerkneth both zinge and old,
That willen heren of battailes bold.
34. The King of Tars (Numb. iv. in 5 leaves and a
hal) beginning thus,
Kerkneth to me bothe eld and zing,
For Maries love that fwete thing.
35. A Tale or Romance, (Numb. 1. 2 leaves), that
wants both beginning and end. The iirft lines now remaining
are,
Th Erl him graunted his will y-wis. that the knicht him hadea
y told.

36. Another mutilated Tale orR.omance (Numb, nu
4 leaves). The firft lines at prefent are,

37. A mutilated Tale or Romance (Numb. xi. in
13 leaves). The two nrft lines that occur are,
That riche Douke his feft gan hold
With Erls and with Baronns bold.
