3a ANCIENT SONGS<br />

M<strong>of</strong>t loyal have yee been to mee,<br />

M<strong>of</strong>t true and faithful unto deathe :<br />

And, ch ! to rayfe yee up againe,<br />

How freelye could I yield my breathe ? 80<br />

But fee the traitor's yet alive,<br />

Lo where hee ftalkes among thedeade !<br />

Nowe bitterlye he mall abye :<br />

And vengeance fall upon his head.<br />

O ftaye, my liege, then fayd the duke; $$<br />

O ftaye for love and charitie ;<br />

Remember what the vifion fpake,<br />

Nor meete your foe, if it may bee.<br />

O, ftaye mee not, thou worthye wight,<br />
