FAKTA: TESTFAKTA (SEP 09)<br />

Att hålla barn torra i regnrusk är inte det lättaste. Men Testfaktas test av åtta<br />

olika regnställ för barn visar att det inte behöver vara så dyrt. I testet betygsattes<br />

saker som vattentäthet, rivstyrka och hur mycket slitage regnställen tålde. Man<br />

gick också in på vilka funktioner som fanns på plaggen. Prislappen brydde man<br />

sig inte alls om. Men om du gör det så kan vi rekommendera dig att köpa vårt<br />

egendesignade regnställ. Det blev nämligen inte bara utnämnt till ”Bäst i test”,<br />

utan var också det absolut billigaste regnstället av alla.<br />

Inte så dumt, eller hur?<br />

DURING THE YEAR<br />

• Major jeans drive. <strong>We</strong> looked at and<br />

improved everything from selection,<br />

design and fit to qualities, washes<br />

and finish. <strong>We</strong> also ensured that jeans<br />

and trousers are given a more<br />

prominent place in stores. The<br />

venture helped to considerably<br />

strengthen our position in jeans.<br />

• Launch of KaxsProxtec. Demand for<br />

good functional clothes is great.<br />

Consequently we launched a<br />

completely new collection of clothes<br />

that are rain, mud, snow and windproof,<br />

that are fine in the dryer and<br />

can be seen in the dark. They were<br />

very positively received by<br />

customers.<br />

a separate space in the stores, allowing customers to find what fits best<br />

more easily.<br />

During the year we also sensed an increased demand for good<br />

functional clothes, so we introduced a programme called KaxsProxtec,<br />

which was launched in August. It was well received by customers. <strong>We</strong><br />

are also strong in pyjamas for small children and underwear for slightly<br />

older children. The position was strengthened during the year when<br />

we successfully redid all our underwear.<br />

SALES TREND FOR KAPPAHL CHILD <strong>KappAhl</strong> Child achieved a<br />

turnover of SEK 1.4 (1.3) billion in 2008/2009. Sales contributed to<br />

<strong>KappAhl</strong> Child’s market share of 12.5 (11.9) per cent in the largest<br />

market, Sweden (market research company GfK August 2008). In<br />

the other markets, such as Poland, growth is strong. <strong>KappAhl</strong> Child<br />

currently accounts for 28 (27) per cent of <strong>KappAhl</strong>’s total sales.<br />

PLANS FOR NEXT YEAR In 2008/2009 a Vintage Stories collection<br />

was launched for <strong>KappAhl</strong> Woman. In autumn 2009 a new Vintage<br />

Stories collection will be launched. It will also include garments to be<br />

sold at <strong>KappAhl</strong> Child. Vintage Stories is a limited collection in which<br />

each of the garments has its own personal story attached to it, which<br />

creates an exclusive feeling.<br />

<strong>We</strong> will also continue our efforts to strengthen our position in jeans<br />

and differentiate more between the various styles and collections<br />

within <strong>KappAhl</strong> Child, so that customers have more to choose from.<br />

<strong>KappAhl</strong>’s rainclothes for children<br />

were voted “Best in test” in the<br />

magazine Vi Föräldrar, in autumn<br />

2009. The test measured eight<br />

rainsuits, focussing on watertightness,<br />

tear strength, durability<br />

and safety.<br />
