will find itself under water (that will also feature no fish,<br />

by the way) in about fifty years along with all its investments,<br />

assuming the continuation of the trend of the atmosphere’s<br />

saturation with products of non-renewable<br />

energy sources’ burning – the same products that have<br />

enabled Dubai to reach such progress and bliss.<br />

All those aspects require a revolution of sorts: from the<br />

trade business strictly connected with oil, now is the time<br />

to turn the focus to something else… The answer to the<br />

“what?” question should be found in the combination of<br />

wealth and vision from one person, Dubai’s “main man”<br />

and legal manager, sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al<br />

Maktoum. That vision presents the emancipation of the<br />

economy from the disappearing reliance called oil, as<br />

well as creating special business and tourism attractions<br />

“The Big Ones” in Dubai<br />

After its opening in 2009, Burj Dubai will become the largest<br />

building in the world. Inspired by Islamic tradition, the<br />

tower includes designer elements that originate from<br />

the form of local desert flowers. The stability in these dramatic<br />

dimensions is provided by the structure that sees<br />

the mass reducing as the tower gets nearer to the top.<br />

In that way, the majority of the mass lies in the building’s<br />

lowest segments. The tower is being built for different<br />

purposes, most of them being connected to business,<br />

trade, entertainment, as well as private residences.<br />

Burj Dubai shouldn’t be confused to the object of a similar<br />

name, Burj Al Arab. Dubai is currently one of the biggest<br />

construction sites in the world, but every construction<br />

story begins and ends with the symbol of power of<br />

designer attraction and restaurant excellence – a hotel<br />

that is advertised as “the best in the world” – Burj Al Arab,<br />

the Arabic Tower; and if it’s not the best, it is certainly the
