Arranging other Matches Old Rule<br />

L.9. A Club shall not arrange to play a friendly match during the Season:<br />

L.9.1. until the dates of League Matches for that Season have been fixed and<br />

published in accordance with Rule L.1; or<br />

L.9.2. so that it adversely affects a League Match.<br />

Other Competitors Old Rule<br />

L.10. Except with the prior written approval of the Board, a Club shall not enter or play<br />

in any competition other than:<br />

L.10.1. the UEFA Champions League;<br />

L.10.2. the UEFA Europa League;<br />

L.10.3. the F.A. Cup;<br />

L.10.4. the F.A. Community Shield;<br />

L.10.5. the Football League Cup;<br />

L.10.6. competitions sanctioned by the County Association of which it is a member.<br />

L.11. Each Club shall enter the F.A. Cup. E.11<br />

L.12. Qualification for UEFA Club Competitions shall be on sporting merit through<br />

domestic competitions controlled or sanctioned by the Football Association. Clubs<br />

qualifying for a UEFA Club Competition must apply for a UEFA Club Licence in<br />

accordance with the Licensing Manual.<br />

Postponement of League Matches Old Rule<br />

L.13. A League Match shall not be postponed or abandoned except:<br />

L.13.1. when on the date fixed for it to be played either the Home Club or the<br />

Visiting Club is competing in a competition permitted by Rules L.10.1, L.10.1,<br />

and L.10.3; or<br />

L.13.2. with the approval of or on the instructions of the officiating referee; or<br />

L.13.3. by order of the police; or<br />

L.13.4. by order of any other authority exercising its statutory powers to that effect; or<br />

L.13.5. on the instructions of or with the prior written consent of the Board.<br />

L.14. Where it is proposed to postpone a League Match pursuant to Rule L.13.4 on the<br />

grounds of safety, the appropriate Official of the Home Club shall:<br />

L.14.1. complete and make available on request to the Premier League all relevant<br />

risk assessment documentation; and<br />

L.14.2. time permitting, consult with the officiating referee, the police, the<br />

chairman of the Club’s Safety Advisory Group and the match delegate<br />

appointed to attend the League Match pursuant to Rule L.17.<br />

L.15. Upon a League Match being postponed or abandoned in accordance with Rules L.13.1,<br />

L.13.2, L.13.3 or L.13.4, the Home Club shall forthwith inform the Secretary, and the<br />

Board will thereupon exercise its power under Rule L.6 and fix a date upon which the<br />

League Match in question shall be played.<br />
