SECTION T: PLAYERS – CONTRACTS<br />

T.9.2. no Player shall either directly or indirectly accept or cause or permit<br />

his Agent to accept any such offer as is described in this Rule.<br />

Form of Contract Old Rule<br />

T.10. Contracts between Clubs and Players signed before 5th June 2003 shall be in<br />

Form 25; such contracts signed on or after that date (or, in the case of a club<br />

promoted to the League from the Football League, on or after the date upon<br />

which it becomes a member of the League) shall be in Form 26.<br />

Length of Contract Old Rule<br />

T.11. Subject to the exceptions set out below, a contract between a Club and a Player<br />

may be for any period provided that its expiry date is 30th June. The exceptions<br />

to this Rule are:<br />

T.11.1. contracts with Contract Players under the age of 18 years which must<br />

not be capable of lasting for more than 3 years;<br />

T.11.2. monthly contracts;<br />

T.11.3. Week by Week Contracts.<br />

Players’ Remuneration Old Rule<br />

T.12. Full details of a Player’s remuneration including all benefits to which he is<br />

entitled whether in cash or in kind shall be set out in his contract.<br />

T.13. The terms of a contract between a Club and a Player shall be strictly adhered to. K.13<br />

T.14. Not later than 30th June in each year each Club shall submit to the Secretary<br />

in Form 27 full particulars of all payments made to and all benefits provided<br />

to each of its Players in the previous tax year.<br />

T.15. If any Club acts in breach of Rule T.14, in addition to any penalty imposed<br />

Section W of these Rules (Disciplinary), the Board shall have power to refuse any<br />

application by that Club to register any Player until the breach has been remedied.<br />

Signing-on Fees Old Rule<br />

T.16. A Signing-on Fee may be paid only to a Contract Player whose contract:<br />

T.16.1. is for a period of not less than 3 months; and<br />

T.16.2. is not a monthly contract or a Conditional Contract or a Week by<br />

Week Contract.<br />

T.17. In the case of a contract between a Club and a Player lasting for more than<br />

one year, any Signing-on Fee shall be paid in equal annual instalments.<br />

T.18. If the registration of a Contract Player is transferred when any part of his Signingon<br />

Fee remains unpaid, a sum equal to the unpaid balance thereof shall be paid to<br />

him forthwith by the Transferor Club unless:<br />

T.18.1. the transfer is consequent upon the Contract Player’s contract having<br />

been terminated by the Transferor Club by reason of the Contract Player’s<br />

breach of its terms and conditions; or<br />
