SECTION O: MEDICAL<br />

Attendance of Medical Personnel and Provisions of Medical Facilities Old Rule<br />

O.7. At every League Match:<br />

O.7.1. each participating Club shall procure the attendance of its team doctor and<br />

the Home Club shall procure the attendance of its crowd doctor. The Home<br />

Club’s team doctor and crowd doctor shall be available throughout and for a<br />

reasonable time before and after the match;<br />

O.7.2. each participating Club shall procure the attendance of a therapist who<br />

is qualified as required by Rule O.4;<br />

O.7.3. each participating Club’s team doctor and therapist (who shall be qualified as<br />

required by Rule O.4) shall occupy that Club’s trainer’s bench during the<br />

League Match;<br />

O.7.4. the Home Club shall procure the attendance of at least two fully qualified<br />

and appropriately insured paramedics who shall be available to assist with<br />

on-field medical incidents;<br />

O.7.5. no person other than a participating Club’s team doctor, therapist (who<br />

shall be qualified as required by Rule O.4) or the paramedics referred to in<br />

Rule O.7.4 shall be permitted to treat Players or Match Officials on the field<br />

of play;<br />

O.7.6. the Home Club shall provide a minimum of 2 stretchers and an appropriately<br />

trained team of stretcher bearers for each stretcher to remove injured<br />

Players or Match Officials from the field of play;<br />

O.7.7. the Home Club shall provide a medical treatment and examination room<br />

close to both teams’ dressing rooms and shall ensure that the mandatory<br />

equipment as prescribed by the Board from time to time is available;<br />

O.7.8. the Home Club shall ensure that throughout each League Match a fully<br />

equipped dedicated and appropriately insured ambulance suitable to carry<br />

an emergency casualty and staffed by a person or persons qualified to perform<br />

essential emergency care en route is available at the ground to transport<br />

any Player or Match Official requiring emergency treatment to hospital;<br />

O.7.9. the Home Club shall before each League Match make available to the<br />

Visiting Club an emergency care/medical information sheet in the manner<br />

prescribed by the Board from time to time.<br />

O.8. At any other match in which a Club team participates (except as required under<br />

the Rules of the F.A. Cup or the Football League Cup) the Home Club shall procure<br />

the attendance of the holder of:<br />

O.8.1. current, recognised four day first aid at work qualification; or<br />

O.8.2. the FA Emergency Aid qualification and the FA First Aid for Sport<br />

qualification; or<br />

O.8.3. the Football Association Advanced Resuscitation and Emergency<br />

Aid Certificate.<br />
