Creating a new <strong>Mobile</strong> <strong>OpenEdge</strong> project<br />

Creating a new <strong>Mobile</strong> <strong>OpenEdge</strong> project<br />

Now that you have selected a browser and entered your credentials, you can start<br />

creating the app.<br />

To create a new <strong>Mobile</strong> project:<br />

1. Select File→ New→ Progress→ <strong>OpenEdge</strong> Project. Name the project<br />

My<strong>Mobile</strong> and select <strong>Mobile</strong> from the drop-down menu. Click Next.<br />

2. Click Next again to accept the defaults on the AVM and layout options page.<br />

3. On the Define AppServer content module page, select restbroker1 as your server.<br />

Click Next.<br />

4. A <strong>Mobile</strong> service is created automatically. On the Create a <strong>Mobile</strong> Service page,<br />

select restmgr1 as your server. Click Next.<br />

5. On the Create a <strong>Mobile</strong> App page, select restmgr1 as your server. Note that<br />

Developer Studio automatically appends “App” to your project name to create the<br />

name of your <strong>Mobile</strong> App. Click Next.<br />

6. Click Next to accept the PROPATH defaults.<br />

7. Click Configure database. For this sample app, add a new connection to the<br />

Sports2000 database provided with <strong>OpenEdge</strong>. Use localhost as the Host name<br />

at port 5555.<br />

8. Click Finish.<br />

9. Click Yes when prompted if you want to open the server perspective.<br />

By default, the <strong>Mobile</strong> App Builder will now be launched in a browser window. Minimize<br />

the browser window for now and return to Developer Studio.<br />
