5.3. The input data is the simulated beam-errared data which -generated for the
simulation desenption of the previous parwaph. The outputs from the simulat~on
are the radial and tangential component. estimatedfrom the vector current algantbm.
A comparison is shown in Figure 5.9 where the actual data case is compared to
the simulated result. Even though the radial componente are estimated to mtthin
re-n for both eases, the tangential components exhibit sidcaotly more variability.
As illustrated by this example, it is plausible that beam direction emam may be
responsible for the resulte observed in the actud tangential component mmparison.
Another problem that may affet the radarfdriner comparison is that the current
iesolution of both measurement W ques may be too mane for adequate sensing of
theeurrent~ monitored in this experiment. Inother words, thecurrents are di5cult to
