<strong>Yukon</strong> Beringia Interpretive Centre<br />

During the last ice age, a vast region<br />

called Beringia extended from Siberia<br />

across Alaska and northern <strong>Yukon</strong>.<br />

Beringia escaped glaciation and became<br />

a refuge for plants and animals like the<br />

woolly mammoth, scimitar cat and giant<br />

beaver. Watch a film presentation and<br />

explore exhibits including a full-size cast<br />

of a woolly mammoth, a reconstruction of<br />

Old Crow’s Bluefish Caves and the <strong>Yukon</strong><br />

Horse exhibit. Located at Km 1422 on the<br />

Alaska Highway near the airport.<br />

Old Log Church Museum<br />

Built in 1900, the Old Log Church<br />

and Rectory are among the oldest<br />

buildings in Whitehorse. Today, the<br />

church’s exhibits and interactive<br />

displays tell stories about the early<br />

days of missionaries, whalers,<br />

explorers and <strong>Yukon</strong> First Nations.<br />

View an impressive collection of<br />

artifacts and learn about the early<br />

contact between Europeans and the<br />

<strong>Yukon</strong> First Nations peoples. Come<br />

and hear about the legendary<br />

“bishop who ate his boots”!<br />

Located in downtown Whitehorse,<br />

a five-minute walk from the <strong>Yukon</strong><br />
