The basin belongs to the administration provinces of Ragusa. It includes the Irmino river and the artificial reservoir of St. Rosalia. During the period 1921-2000 the basin received an average amount of rain between 700 and 800 mm per year. Springs and wells provide about 665l/s of water for a total of 21 million m 3 per year. The average total water demand for urban consumption is million 6.9m3 which is meet by import from other basins. 71% of the basin area is cultivated, only 16% of that is irrigated (33km 2 ), out of that only 23 km 2 are irrigate by public networks and pipelines (Consorzio 8). The remaining part is irrigated by private wells for a total of 18.2 million m 3 per year. No relevant industrial activity is active in the basin. The basin belongs to the administration provinces of Ragusa and Siracusa. During the period 1921-2000 the basin received an average amount of rain between 450-600 mm per year. Springs and wells provide about 170 l/s of water for a total of 5.3 million m 3 per year. The average total water demand for urban consumption is million 11m3 which is meet by import from other basins. 68% of the basin area is cultivated, only 37% of that is irrigated (114km 2 ), out of that only 19 km2 are irrigate by public networks and pipelines (Consorzio 8 and 10).
