• Johnson now has three-consecutive 100-yard games for
the third time in his career. In the past three games, he
has registered 129 yards (at Jax 11/4), 207 yards (at Min
11/11) and 143 yards (vs. GB 11/18) and has averaged
159.6 yards per game.
¾ Johnson caught 12 passes for 207 yards at Minnesota (11/11),
which was his third career 200-yard game. He has four overall
including a 200-yard game in the Lions’ 2011 playoff game.
Johnson became the ninth player in NFL history to record
three career 200-yard games, and he is now tied for the fifthmost
in League history.
• With 12 receptions at Minnesota Johnson set a new
single-game career high, breaking his previous record of 11
set in the 2011 season finale at Green Bay and becoming
the first Lions player to grab 12 passes in a game since WR
Herman Moore set the franchise’s all-time single-game
record with 14 vs. Chicago December 4, 1995.
¾ Johnson hauled in seven passes for 129 yards against Jacksonville
(11/4) despite a knee injury. Though he was unable to
reach the end zone, his 38-yard reception to the one-yard line
set up the Lions’ second touchdown score of the day.
¾ With 46 receiving yards against Seattle (10/28), Johnson
moved into second place on the Lions all-time receiving yards
list. His 6,510 yards passed WR Johnnie Morton (6,499) and
are second only to WR Herman Moore’s 9,174.
¾ In the Lions’ 26-23 overtime win at Philadelphia in Week 6
(10/14), Johnson completed the day with six catches for 135
yards. It was his 24th career 100-yard game and third of the
2012 season. On Johnson’s fifth catch of the day, he became
the fourth player in Lions history to record 400 career receptions.
He is the fastest player in team history to record 400
career receptions, accomplishing the feat in 81 games (WR
Herman Moore, 85 games; WR Brett Perriman, 90 games and
WR Johnnie Morton, 112 games).
• His final reception for 17 yards occurred in overtime to
move the ball the the Eagles 27-yard line when the team
faced 1st-and-20. The catch helped set up the gamewinning
K Jason Hanson field goal.
• Johnson caught passes of 28, 37, 20, 17, 16 and 17 yards
to average 22.5 yards per catch against the Eagles. His fi-
november to remember
WR Calvin Johnson not only had one of the best performances of
any NFL player in November this year, but he had one of the greatest
efforts in recent years during the month.
¾ Johnson was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for
November, the first of his career.
¾ He is the first Lions’ offensive player to be named Player of
the Month since Pro Football Hall of Famer RB Barry Sanders
(December 1997). Johnson and Sanders (six times) are the only
players in franchise history to be named Offensive Player of the
Month.
¾ In just four games, Johnson grabbed 32 receptions for 619 yards
(19.3 avg) along with three touchdowns. Johnson averaged
154.8 yards per game during the month and had at least 125+
receiving yards in all four games. His 619 receiving yards in November
is a new franchise record for the month.
¾ His 154.8 average is the highest in November since Hall of Fame
WR Lance Alworth registered 156.3 during a three-game span
in 1963.
¾ His 619 receiving yards in November are the most in the NFL
during the month since WR Terrell Owens registered 693 over a
five-game span in 2007.
¾ He recorded 129 yds at Jac (11/4), 207 yards at Min (11/11),
143 vs. GB (11/18) and 140 vs. Hou (11/22). Johnson is the first
player in team history to register three-straight games of 140+
receiving yards.
¾ Calvin Johnson is the first player since Texans WR Andre Johnson
in 2008 to record a streak of three-straight games of 140+
receiving yards and four-straight games of 125+ receiving yards.
Andre Johnson accomplished both of these in a four-game
stretch during the month of October in 2008.
