¾ The <strong>Lions</strong> and Bengals met every year<br />
in preseason from 1970-2001 and<br />
the rivalry was renewed in 2003. The<br />
two teams have played a total of 35<br />
preseason games, with the Bengals<br />
holding a slight 18-17 series edge.<br />
¾ in the initial meeting of the series, the<br />
<strong>Lions</strong> jumped out to 31-0 halftime lead<br />
and never looked back as they trounced<br />
the Bengals 38-3 September 27, 1970.<br />
The detroit defense limited Cincinnati<br />

Billy Sims to become detroit’s all-time<br />
leading rusher. he rushed 29 times for<br />
151 yards and scored a touchdown as<br />
