• DT Ndamukong Suh also accounted for five of the Lions’
six quarterback hits against the Texans.
¾ The Lions defensive line applied disruptive pressure against
the Green Bay Packers in Week 11 (11/18), racking up three
sacks (17 yards) and recording three of the team’s five tackles
for loss.
• DT Nick Fairley had another career day has he finished
with a career-high seven tackles (four solo), two sacks
(12 yards), two tackles for loss and one forced fumble. DE
Cliff Avril picked up the third sack, giving him 2.5 for the
year, while DT Ndamukong Suh finished with five tackles
(two solo).
¾ In Week 10 at Minnesota, DT Nick Fairley had a breakout
game by applying pressure to Vikings QB Christian Ponder
with four solo tackles, three of which were tackles for loss,
and the Lions’ only sack on the day (7 yards). Fairley now has
2.5 sacks in 2012.
¾ Against the Seahawks (10/28), the Lions starting defensive
tackle tandem of DT Ndamukong Suh and DT Corey Williams
combined for four tackles for loss against a quality Seahawks
rushing attack. Suh had a pivotal tackle for loss as he stuffed
RB Marshawn Lynch, forcing the subsequent Seahawks field
goal attempt to land just short to end the half.
¾ In Week 7 against the Bears on Monday Night Football (10/22),
the Lions defensive line helped Detroit rack up five sacks on
Chicago QB Jay Cutler. DE Kyle Vanden Bosch led the way
with two sacks for a total loss of 6 yards while DT Ndamukong
Suh had one for a loss of 8 yards.
• LBs Stephen Tulloch and Justin Durant also combined
for half a sack on the night, while rookie CB Jonte Green
recorded his first career sack for a loss of 2 yards.
• Suh now has 17.5 sacks for his career and passed DT
Hentry Thomas (16.5) for sole possession of seventh place
on the Lions career sacks list (since 1982) for defensive
tackles.
¾ Led by DE Cliff Avril, DT Nick Fairley and DE Kyle Vanden
Bosch, the Lions’ defensive line played a huge part in the
team’s 26-23 overtime win in Week 6 at Philadelphia (10/14)
by applying consistent pressure on QB Michael Vick. The unit

Detroit’s defensive line is led by the pressure forced in the
middle the team’s defensive tackles: Ndamukong Suh, Nick
Fairley, Corey Williams, Sammie Hill and Andre Fluellen.
¾ The Lions defensive tackles have recorded the most sacks
(14.0), have more tackles for loss on rushing plays (19.5)
and have more total negative defensive plays (33.5) than
any other group of defensive tackles in the NFL.
¾ Suh is second (6.5) and Fairley is tied for fourth (5.5) among
defensive tackles in the NFL.
¾ Detroit is the only team in the League with two defensive
tackles with 5+ sacks this season.
¾ With Suh registering 6.5 sacks and Fairley garnering 5.5
sacks this season, it marks the first time since 1996 that
two Lions defensive tackles (DT Luther Elliss, 6.5; DT Henry
Thomas, 6.0) had at least 5.5 sacks.
¾ Fairley and Suh are tied for second (7.5) in tackles for loss
on rushing plays by defensive tackles. The Lions are the only
team in the NFL with two defensive tackles with 5+ tackles
for loss on rushing plays.
¾ On combined sacks and tackles for loss on rushing plays,
Suh ranks second with 14.0 and Fairley ranks third with 13.0
¾ In the opener, three defensive tackles registered sacks
against St. Louis (9/9), with DT Nick Fairley, DT Ndamukong
Suh and DT Corey Williams each registered one
apiece. It was only the fourth time (third since 2010) that
three defensive tackles have registered sacks in the same
game for the Lions since quarterback sacks became an official
stat in 1982.

Lions third-year DT Ndamukong Suh continues to produce and disrupt
opponent offenses. Since entering the NFL in 2010, he is tied for
the most sacks by a defensive tackle over the past three years (19.5).
Among defensive tackles in 2012, Suh is tied for third with 5.5 sacks,
fourth with 7 tackles for loss on rushing plays, and tied for second
in combined sacks and tackles for loss on rushing plays with 12.5.
¾ Since entering the League in 2010, Suh has the most combined
sacks and tackles-for-loss on rushing plays by defensive tackles
with 35 (19.5 sacks, 15.5 TFLs).
¾ In just his third year, he is seventh among all Lions defensive
tackles in career sacks since the statistic became official in 1982.
